His n Her Smoothies

My husband is currently doing a bit of a raw challenge which is great, but it does mean extra work for me as well as coming up variations on smoothies and other meals. I’m happy with really simple food but he likes a lot more fat and chunkier food. Β This smoothie was pretty popular on the day.

Bananas, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, acai berry powder, maqui berry powder, and chia seed gel in coconut water.

I topped his off with homemade organic peanut and coconut oil butter (but you could use any nut butter) and cacao nibs.

And to keep mine low fat, I topped it with berries and kiwi fruit πŸ™‚

  1. This looks so yum! How many quantities of each fruit do you recommend using? As I don’t want to over indulge in natural sugars I tend to lean towards more green smoothies that have extra vegetables rather then fruits. What are your thoughts? πŸ™‚

    1. HI. If you were making it for one you could probably just use 1 frozen ripe banana and a cup of berries. I have a lot of green smoothies as well but would still get most of my calorie intake from sweet fruits. In the winter I increase my fat content considerably more. There are minimal calories in greens and veg so as long as you are getting enough minerals, the bulk of your calories need to come from fat or carbs. I tend to do well on either but I do have more energy when I stick to sweet fruits. πŸ™‚

      1. Ohk perfect! Thanks so much for that! Makes sense. I have found such an impact by having a good solid smoothie in the mornings either with breakfast or as a light brunch. Makes such a difference when you eat the right foods for your body, especially raw and natural ingredients. Loving your posts!
